NER  Competition '99


 


The 1999 Northeast Region Cadet Competition will be held at the Naval Education and Training Center (NETC), Newport Naval Base RI, 8 - 10 October 1999.  A schedule is listed below. Please note that the schedule is subject to change.

0630 -0800 Breakfast 
0800 - 1000 Inspection
1030 - 1145 Standard Drill
1145 - 1300 Lunch 
1300 - 1500 Innovative
1530 - 1645 Panel Quiz
1700 -1815 Dinner
1900 - 2000 Written Exam

 
Sunday
 0730 -0845 Mile Run 
1000 - 1145 Volleyball
1145 - 1300 Lunch
1330 - 1400 Awards

 Massachusetts Wing will be participating in both the Drill and Color Guard Competitions at Newport.  If you have the opportunity to attend
please do.  Your support at the competition will be greatly appreciated by all of our cadets participating.



 

 Directions

If you approach Newport from the Boston Area, use Interstate 93S to
Route 24S to Route 114 (West Main Road), continue south to Coddington
Highway (a Burger King will be on the left; the Navy Lodge will be on the
right).  Turn right onto Coddington Highway and proceed approximately 1.6
miles to the traffic circle.  Exit at Admiral Kalbfus Road (first exit on
right out of traffic circle) and continue about three-tenths of a mile to
Gate 1 of NETC. 
If you approach Newport from the western suburbs of Boston, use
Interstate 95S to Interstate 93N to Route 24S to Route 114 (West Main
Road), continue south to Coddington Highway (a Burger King will be on the
left; the Navy Lodge will be on the right).  Turn right onto Coddington
Highway and proceed approximately 1.6 miles to the traffic circle.  Exit
at Admiral Kalbfus Road (first exit on right out of traffic circle) and
continue about three-tenths of a mile to Gate 1 of NETC.

 
 If you approach Newport from western Massachusetts, use Interstate 90E
(Mass Pike) to Interstate 495S to Route 24S to Route 114 (West Main
Road), continue south to Coddington Highway (a Burger King will be on the
left; the Navy Lodge will be on the right).  Turn right onto Coddington
Highway and proceed approximately 1.6 miles to the traffic circle.  Exit
at Admiral Kalbfus Road (first exit on right out of traffic circle) and
continue about three-tenths of a mile to Gate 1 of NETC.
